Terry-waterstones

Best known as the voice of “Cashier Number Three, please”, Herefordshire businessman and customer services guru Terry Green has spent much of his career implementing queueing systems across the world.

Now, he is hoping there’ll be a need for his expertise much closer to home-managing the queues for his first crime thriller, “Redline.” In the run-up to Christmas, Terry has launched a unique tie-up with two Herefordshire businesses. Readers who buy Redline at Waterstones in Commercial Street, Hereford will receive a voucher to enjoy one of the best cappuccinos in town, for free, at The Bookshop in Aubrey Street. The Bookshop is part of the ART Hospitality group, of which Terry is the chairman. The promotion runs until 24 December.

“Redline’ is a fast and furious read, set in the glamorous world of sports cars, with 5” reviews claiming “it will keep you hooked” and it’s a “race from start to finish” it is influenced by Terry’s addiction to beautiful cars and his early career in the automotive industry. The crime thriller features management accountant and corporate fire-fighter Jake Elderfield and draws on Terry’s extensive business and financial knowledge

“Many people already know me as “Cashier Number Three and over the past 20 years or so, around 25 million shoppers each month have heard my voice summoning them from the queue – in banks, shops and post offices worldwide.” says Terry

“My first foray into writing was a business book, “You’re Next” which focussed on customer service and queue management. A reader commented that it read like a thriller and it got me thinking, why not? So, I set myself the challenge to come up with a twist on the classic detective story, with lies, fraud and murder, some delicious scandal and just a touch of romantic intrigue! All served up on a bed of gritty business challenges for our hero, Jake Elderfield”
