Invited to give one of the regular teatime talks at his local arts centre, The Wharf, Tavistock, Terry Green will describe how he became famous as the “Voice of Cashier Number Three, Please.”

From the man who introduced the British habit of queueing to more than 40 countries, here’s the chance to hear about the twists and turns of his life and the thrills and spills of his new career as a crime thriller writer.

Terry was already a twice-published business author when, in late summer 2025, he launched Redline, a high suspense page-turner. Earlier this year, he published Dangerous Art, the second nail-biting thriller in his Jake Elderfield series. The action starts at Burgh Island, off the south Devon coast and moves to Prague, before returning to Devon and his home town of Tavistock.

Tickets cost £6.00 or £5.00 for Friends of The Wharf and the price includes a cuppa and cake. For more details and to book call 01822 611166, visit www.tavistockwharf.com or drop in to The Wharf Box Office – open Monday-Saturday 11.15am-2.15pm and 6pm-8pm.
