Thriller writer visits Cullompton for National Crime Reading Month
Devon writer Terry Green is visiting Cullompton as part of a tour to introduce his latest crime thriller Dangerous Art and to support the Crime Writers’ Association’s National Crime Reading Month in June.
His series of author events at libraries around the county includes a free talk at Cullompton Library from 2pm to 4pm on Thursday 4th June.
From the man who introduced the British habit of queueing to more than 40 countries, here’s the chance to hear about the twists and turns of his new “life of crime”. And to find out about newly-published Dangerous Art, which continues the nail-biting adventures of his hero Jake Elderfield, a management accountant turned corporate fire-fighter.
Terry, the “Voice of Cashier Number Three, Please” has had a career that’s taken him from cars to queue-busting, customer service to celebrity chefs. He was already a twice-published business author when, in 2025, he turned to crime writing.
His debut novel, Redline, the first in a series, is a fast and furious story set in the glamorous, high octane world of sports cars. An intriguing thriller with a host of 5* reviews, it has been dubbed “a race from start to finish”. Dangerous Art is the high-suspense sequel. Set in the high stakes world of fine art, it’s a taut, tense and riveting story of shady dealings and career criminals, of abduction, blackmail and fraud. It is influenced by some of Terry’s favourite places – the action starts at Burgh Island and moves to Prague, before returning to Devon.
Terry’s author talk at Cullompton Library is free, with donations to the library accepted on the day.
National Crime Reading Month is an initiative developed and run by the Crime Writers’ Association, this year in collaboration with The Reading Agency. It features events across the UK and Ireland run by libraries, bookshops, book clubs, reading groups, and even museums. Find out more by following the #PickUpAPageTurner hashtag on social media.
